Opening ceremonies will include, Mayor Adam Lordon, Hon. Bill Fraser, Hon. Lisa Harris and MP Pat Finnigan. An invitation was extended to Premier Brian Gallant and Prime Minister Trudeau. Their attendance will depend on their schedules at the time.

Bringing instrumental music to the mainstream is all that this artist Natalie MacMaster is about. This award winning fiddler from Troy in Inverness County, Nova Scotia, is one of the best-known musicians for adhering to a traditional fiddle style of playing music. She is continually touring and has played up to 250 shows in a year. It is no wonder that this fiddler has been joined world tours with performers such as the Chieftians, Faith Hill, Carlos Santana and Alison Krauss. She will be joined in Miramichi with her husband, note fiddler, Donnell Leahy and their six talented children. This is a show not to miss!

Event: Inviting children under 16 who sing folksongs (Miramichi Folksongs preferred), dance, play an instrument, tell a story or write their own music. Special Guest: Lalla McFarlane
Lalla has loved to sing since she was extremely young. As of the last few years, she has excelled as a student of David Bunnell’s. She is a member of the St. Michaels Basilica Youth Choir. Lalla is a resident of Miramichi and can often be seen singing concerts at local Miramichi events. She has performed at the Regional Musical Festival receiving a number of gold medals. Lalla has successfully performed at the provincial level in New Brunswick Provincial Music Finals.
